SharePoint 2010 was released as a 64 bit by Microsoft. So it supports only 64 bit windows Operating System
Prerequisites : install Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Service Pack1(SP1):
Insert SharePoint2010 DVD or mount the SharePoint 2010 ISO to a Virtual Server, It will start to Auto Play.
Enter Product key
Accept the terms of the agreement check box
Select the installation type. Whether it will be a Standalone (Single Server) Deployment or a Server Farm Deployment (scaled out to multiple servers such as front end, back end server topologies). I will be selecting Server Farm as my SQL server is on another Physical Server.
On the Server Type we will be selecting the Complete option and click on the File Location tab
Click Install Now – the installation Begins and Finishes successfully.
Select Run the Share Point Products Configuration wizard to complete 100% installation.
Once you complete this configuration, Sharepoint Database will be created automatically and you can start work on Sharepoint2010.
